I believe your 4x2 has a 13 Amp charging system. Yes, as you stated, standard type gator. Also, make sure the battery is in good shape and charged when testing. Ok, this is difficult without pictures and only gives you a path, so to speak, so bear with me as I use the printed wire number and color description. I believe you should see a minimum of 34 VAC at 3750 +/- 100 RPM, coming from the stator.
